My name is Cloe Jabin
I was born in France, but I have spent most of my life in Belgium. From as far back as I can remember, photography has always been part of me. I still recall the first camera my parents gave me and how I dropped it from a bridge, as if to remind me that images are fragile, fleeting.
I love the present moment. My friends often laugh, saying they never see me without a Polaroid in my hands. I am gentle, calm, discreet, an observer of the small details others overlook. That is where my eye lingers, in the invisible spaces between things.
I am deeply inspired by Japan; its simplicity, its elegance, its quiet respect for intention. In my work, I search for the purity of a gesture, the honesty of an emotion, the justness of a light.
I have always loved memories. I keep everything, storing photographs like treasures on hard drives, because tomorrow is uncertain and in 2 years, 20 years, or 30 years, it is these fragments that remain. Memory cannot be neglected; it is what anchors us, what gives us meaning.
